Type 2 diabetes does not develop overnight.
Because it is primarily a lifestyle related disease, it can be properly managed and ultimately reversed into submission with consistent action to propel you into a happier and healthier state of being.
Think how you would feel with less worry, confusion, and stress in your life. Think of the energy you would have if you felt more in control of your day to day habits. Think how confident you would be if you knew how to navigate food choices, when to exercise and even the way to deal with stressful situations.
Everyone has an opinion on how you should handle your diabetes diagnosis. Who should you listen to: Someone who heard from a neighbor who heard it from a random unreliable source that drinking celery juice will ward off diabetes OR someone who is trained specifically in nutrition, health, and diabetes management who will help keep you accountable while providing science-backed methods to guide you towards optimal health? (I vote for the latter).
I encourage you to think about who you work with if you wish to become a healthier version of yourself:
How long have you been trying to navigate diabetes management and what success have you had so far?
Do you need accountability, especially when life gets challenging and throws curve balls your way?
Are you aware of which health trends you’re following and whether they are credible and even helping you?
Are the choices you make every day sustainable for the next 20 or 30 years?
